Thirsty Thursday and Football

Thursday Night Football Preview.

Another day closer to the weekend. We have a NFL game and a good college football game tonight.

Auburn @ Kansas St
7:30 ESPN
Auburn -9 Over/under 65
Both teams enter the Little Apple at 2-0. This pits the high paced athletic Auburn rushing attack against Bill Snyder’s defense that tries to keep mistakes at a minimum. Snyder typically has a sound fundamental defense and they will need that tonight in trying to slow down Gus Malzahn’s attack. Kansas State has been stout defensively thus far against the run but have not faced anyone like this Auburn team. They have been susceptible to the pass. Kansas State will try and control the clock and win the turnover battle, and it will have to in order to pull of the upset. In saying that both teams, have good wide receivers with Tyler Lockett for Kansas State and D’haquille Williams for the Tigers. I think Kansas State will do a good job for the most part in containing the rushing attack. However, I think Auburn will make a couple plays through the air and will take care of the ball. Auburn wins a close one heading in to SEC play.
Prediction
Auburn 34 Kansas State 30
Lean Kansas State +9

At the varsity level:
Bucs @ Falcons
Falcons -6.5 Over/Under 45
The Bucs were my sleeper heading into the year and the only thing they have done is put me to sleep. They have lost twice at home to back up quarterbacks. Heading to the Georgia Dome tonight, they may be without Gerald McCoy and Doug Martin. McCoy is one of the better defensive linemen in the league and this does not bode well for an already struggling rush. The Falcons return after heading to Cincinnati and getting dominated. They should be with Julio Jones and Steven Jackson tonight as they look to get on back on track. I think Josh McCown and the Bucs offense will look better not having to face the Panther or Rams defense tonight but that wont be enough. Home teams are usually money on Thursday night and the Falcons are typically good at home.
Prediction
Falcons 31 Bucs 20
Lean Falcons -6.5
