Football Friday: NFL Edition

NFL Week 2 Preview:

9-5 straight up in week 1
10-4 against the spread

Lions @ Panthers 1:00 Fox
Panthers -3 over/under 43.5
This is one of the tougher games on the board. Cam Newton should be ready to go in place of Derek Anderson who beat the Bucs last week. I am still not sold on the Panthers, however they may have the best defense in the league. The Lions had an impressive performance in week 1 and are a sexy pick among Joe Public. This is one of those games on paper the Lions should win but I dont think they will follow up week 1 with a good performance.
Panthers 23 Lions 19
Lean Panthers -3

Dolphins @ Bills 1:00 CBS
Dolphins -1 over/under 43
Both teams got unexpected wins in week 1 with Miami coming back against New England and Buffalo taking down the Bears in OT. The Bills were outgained and almost were almost doubled up in terms of first downs. The Dolphins won the game despite losing the turnover battle. Miami seems to be the public play so I am going to get on the side of the sharps.
Buffalo 20 Miami 17
Lean Bills +1

Jaguars @ Bravehearts 1:00 CBS
Hearts -6 over/under 43.5
The Hearts gave up a punt block for a TD and had 2 costly fumbles driving. RG3 didnt throw the ball down the field much in the loss to Houston. Jacksonville played tough against Philly and seemed to be headed in the right direction under Gus Bradley. Despite the Hearts struggling as a favorite in recent games, Jay Gruden will have a more aggressive game plan.
Hearts 28 Jags 17
Lean Hearts -6

Cowboys @ Titans 1:00 Fox
Titans -3.5 over/under 49.5
I am on this Titans train. I love the duo of Whisenhunt and Ray Horton. Dallas looked horrendous last week and thats putting it mildly. The past couple seasons they have been good as an underdog especially on the road. This is a different squad. The defense … well what defense. And Tony Romo doesnt look healthy. The Titans, I am on this train.
Titans 27 Cowboys 19
Lean Titans -3.5

Cardinals @ Giants 1:00 Fox
Cardinals -2 over/under 43.5
The Giants new offense didnt look so hot Monday night vs the Lions. Eli did not look comfortable. On the other hand, the Cards had an impressive win home vs the Chargers. The defense played well for the Cards especially with the losses they had on that side of the ball. This is a tough spot with the late Monday game traveling across to the east for a 100 tilt. I am going to roll the die at the Meadowlands.
Giants 23 Cardinals 17
Lean Giants +2

Patriots @ Vikings 1:00 CBS
Patriots -3 over/under 49
This line has gone off the board with Adrian Peterson taking the spotlight off Ray Rice. Peterson must feel like a real tough guy laying the smack down on his 4 year old. I hope he goes to jail and Bubba takes care of him ending his NFL Career. I think the Pats wouldve won and covered up to 6.5
Pats 30 Vikings 14
Lean Pats up to -6.5

Saints @ Browns 1:00 Fox
Saints -6.5 over/under 47.5
Someone forgot to tell the Saints defense last week was the regular season. They surrendered a million yards to Matt Ryan and 37 points. They travel to the Dog Pound in hopes to avoid 0-2. Since 07 they are 20-3 ats following a straight up loss. The Browns staged a furious rally last week in Pittsburgh but fell short. I dont think they will have the horses to stay with this Saints offense.
Saints 34 Browns 21
Lean Saints -6.5

Falcons @ Bengals 1:00 Fox
Bengals -5 over/under 48
The Bengals survived on the road last week. They struggled to convert scoring opportunities settling for 5 field goals. Andy Dalton made a big play to AJ Green when it counted. As mentioned above the Falcons put on some fireworks offensively vs the Saints. As I said last week in my preview, I thought the Falcons would beat the Saints and follow it up with a loss. This is a sandwich game for the Falcons with the Saints last week and another division game vs Bucs next week. I think the Bengals are undervalued this year and are in a good spot this week
Bengals 27 Falcons 15
Lean Bengals -5

Rams @ Buccaneers 4:15 Fox
Bucs -5 over/under 37
Both teams put on a display to be forgotten about last week. The Rams gave up 34 and played there 3rd string qb Austin Davis. Brian Schottenheimer looked like he had no clue what to do with an offensive weapon. He had no idea what to do with Tavon Austin. The Rams d should have more success against the Bucs. My darkhorse to win the division, the Bucs looked like garbage last week. I expect them to play better in front of the worst home crowd in the NFL.
Bucs 23 Rams 20
Lean over 37

Seahawks @ Chargers 4:15 Fox
Seahawks -5.5 over/under 44.5
A fantastic week 2 matchup. The Seahawks looked like the team to beat with their week 1 performance. I dont have a clue what they are thinking using Earl Thomas as their punt returner but other than that it was impressive. I am so impressed by their linebackers speed. They are so quick to drop in to coverage, they give you the underneath stuff but they make you drive the field to earn it. The Chargers have to feel like they let one get away Monday night. Now they come home for the Seahawks. Seattle is by far the better team. But there is to much love for my liking on them. The Chargers may win this game outright!!!
Seahawks 24 Chargers 23
Lean Chargers +6

Texans @ Raiders 4:15 CBS
Texans -3 over/under 39.5
JJ Watt is really good. Really good. Did I say he was really good. They lose Clowney for 4-6 but JJ Watt is really good. The Raiders are not very good, in fact not good at all. Unless you are a degenerate or love JJ Watt, there is no reason to watch or care about this game.
Texans 4 Raiders 3
(JJ Watt 2 safeties and it would be awesome if they were on Matt Schaub)
Lean under 39.5

Jets @ Packers 4:15 CBS
Packers -8 over/under 46
Packers were dominated in week 1. The Jets escaped against the Raiders at home. I expect Aaron Rodgers to play well. I expect Geno Smith to suck as the norm. However, be careful my friends. Teams are 6-19 against the spread the week after playing Seattle. The Packers have the Lions on deck. The Packers are banged up on the oline. I expect the Jets to try and control the clock and they will be my team that gets the backdoor in week 2!!
Packers 27 Jets 21
Lean Jets +8

Chiefs @ Broncos 4:15 CBS
Broncos -13 over/under 52
The Broncos were impressive in the first half last week vs the Colts. They were quiet in the second half but held on for the win preventing the Luck comeback. The Chiefs look like a dumpster fire. And Andy Reid looked like his game plan was burned in that fire. Jamaal Charles carried the ball 7 times!!! Ladies and gents, please dont forget, he is smarter than you and I. The Broncos have the Seahawks next week and are looking ahead. The Chiefs get the W in Vegas where it counts. Before last week you couldve gotten the Chiefs +7 this week and all the overreaction the line was set 6 points higher.
Broncos 30 Chiefs 20
Lean Chiefs +13

Bears @ 49ers 8:30 NBC
49ers -7 over/under 48.5
Who knows how good the 49ers are after last weeks game vs Dallas. They open their new stadium against a Bears team that gave one away vs the Bills. Marc Trestman who I think is a very good offensive mind blew it going away from Forte last week. Forte will be a focal point. Every Vegas stat/trend goes against the Bears. 49ers are a great running team against a team who got run over by Buffalo last week. I have a gut feeling on Chicago since the line came out so have to go with gut.
49ers 27 Bears 23
Lean Bears +6.5
